Craftsman and designers are flocking now, more than ever, to materials like salvage (aka reclaimed) wood for projects. Whether it's frames or furniture, reclaimed wood has color, texture, patina, and - best of all - history.

Tips:
- Find a local wood-worker and, if you consider yourself handy, ask for wood scraps and have fun assembling your own creation.
- Be on the lookout for old wood sources - barrels, benches, frames, doors, etc. - you can repurpose these or break them down for a design of your very own.
In doing some online research for my own project, I stumbled on a great post at Apartment Therapy which list some great sources for reclaimed wood and salvaged wood furniture - check it out here.
